From August 11 through August 20, 2009, Sachem Youth Baseball/Softball will host the 10th Annual Cal Ripken 12-Year Old World Series at Nutile Field in Winchester. The first-ever selection of SYBS as the host for this prestigious event marks a crowning achievement in the storied history of Winchester’s youth baseball program.
The tournament will feature 10 teams from across the United States, including three from New England, and will determine a national champion when those teams gather in Winchester from Aug. 11 to Aug. 20, 2009. The teams will be divided into two pools of five teams. Each team will play four games. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals, with the winners of those games advancing to the final.
RE/MAX Leading Edge will be sponsoring balloon rides. Join us for 3 days of "BIG MAX" balloon rides on the field prior to the start of competition, on August 14, 16, 17. All proceeds collected from the balloon rides will be donated to Cal Ripkin (SYBS). For more information check out our web site http://www.wesellwinchester.com/calripken.html
